Niplast®️ HDPE fluoridation tanks are manufactured to the BS EN 12573 Standard to ensure a controlled environment to store the hydrofluosilicic acid used in water fluoridation. With the material base acting as a protective net, our fluoridation tanks can help prevent water loss, leaks, and penetration, minimising health and environmental risks.
Material | POLYPROPYLENE, HIGH-DENSITY POLYETHYLENE OR PVDF |
As with NIPLAST ® chemical storage tanks, our fluoridation tanks are designed and manufactured using only the highest quality component materials available and the highest-rated welding techniques.
Our innovative and flexible manufacturing capabilities mean there are no restrictions on tank diameter, thereby allowing a fully bespoke design to optimise for the storage you need, whether you’re simply storing hydrofluosilicic acid or are adding fluoride concentrations to water supplies as a part of water fluoridation schemes under a public health measure.
By employing a comprehensive drainage setup, the incorporation of an integrated Niplast®️ flange can efficiently inhibit sediment buildup, thereby decreasing the potential for lead and arsenic accumulation over time. The structural design of the Niplast®️ system also upholds the integrity of the tank, which is especially critical for substances vulnerable to leakage pathways. Niplast fluoridation tanks are available in line with SafeBulk®️ bunded tanks and standard in our standard chemical storage tank format.
Using only the best component materials available, the Niplast® Fluoridation tank is developed and built in accordance with the British and European Standard BS EN 12573 as well as the preceding German regulation DVS 2205.
Water fluoridation is the practice of altering fluoride levels in drinking water to provide dental health benefits. Fluoride is a naturally occurring mineral that strengthens tooth enamel and lowers the risk of cavities. In areas where reticulated water supplies are available, this procedure provides a practical and efficient means of assisting in the prevention of dental cavities.
Fluoridating water involves the use of hydrofluosilicic acid. Strong concentrated acids and strong alkalis are incompatible with this compound. In addition to organic peroxides, it reacts with oxidising agents and flammable substances, making it a notoriously difficult chemical to store safely. Our HDPE fluoridation tanks were designed with this in mind, ensuring that the chemical is always stored in a controlled environment.
Today, with over 40 years of brand heritage, Niplast is an expert in manufacturing plastic bulk storage tanks or industrial tanks to strict CEN standard BS EN 12573 and its forerunner DVS 2205.
Our long history of innovatively applying these standards to solve chemical storage problems sets us apart from other brands of underground water tanks and chemical storage solutions. Sometimes, you need to think outside of the tank!
